Commencement of Operations for the BRi-LPS02EX-PN LE Prototype and Order Status for October–November 2026

As mentioned in a previous post, although the BRi-LPS02EX-PN LE prototype had been completed, the modification and testing of the S.M.S.L SP400 had been delayed due to a family member’s hospitalisation and multiple orders for the LPS01 and LPS02.
Today, the modification to convert the S.M.S.L SP400 to linear power supply input was completed, and the BRi-LPS02EX-PN LE prototype has commenced operation. (±18V)
I shall omit the details of the modifications made to the S.M.S.L SP400, but,

As the BRi-LPS02EX-PN is a power supply output, the pin configuration is the reverse of that used for audio XLR connections; the GND/+/- pins are output via a Neutrik? NC3FD-DX-BAG, whilst a Neutrik NC3MD-DX-BAG is fitted to the SP400 via a mounting adapter.

The power supply cables are custom-made using Oyaide 3398-18 red, white and black wires twisted together, and then covered with double-sided conductive copper foil, double-sided conductive aluminium foil, wire mesh and heat-shrink tubing to create noise-reducing differential power cables, which are connected using Neutrik NC3FXX-BAG and NC3MXX-BAG connectors.

We have now commenced operational testing; even with the THX AAA 888’s ultra-low-distortion amplifier, which utilises high-performance feedforward control, the switching noise—which could not be fully eliminated with the standard ±18V voltage generated by the switching power supply module and PNMOS—has been eliminated, meaning that sounds in the mid-to-high frequency range no longer become muddled.
As the ageing process for OS-CON capacitors takes a very long time, testing is still ongoing; however, I believe that by incorporating the LPS series power supply—which combines high-speed response, low noise and excellent transient response—we are further unlocking the full potential of the THX AAA 888.
As regards the current order status for BRi-Audio (as at 30 October 2026),
- BRi-LPS02EXLE 12V 10A Optional Unit
Currently undergoing final assembly - BRi-LPS03EX-D (provisional) 12V/15A + 5V/5A unit (*Special model)
Quotation, circuit board and enclosure design in progress - BRi-LPS02EX-T 15V/7–7.5V unit
Quotation, second output board and enclosure design in progress
This is the current situation.
As we produce approximately one unit of the LPS series per month, please be aware that even if we accept an order for the LPS series, it will take some time to fulfil; we would be grateful for your understanding.
