Linear power supplies LPS02 series (formerly LPS-Dual, LPS-Differential, etc.)
The LPS-Digital, LPS-Differential and other linear power supplies that use Takachi-HY cases, as reported in the announcement, have been officially developed and ordered as the LPS02 series.
We are currently taking orders for BRi-LPS02EXLE, which will be shipped shortly.
BRi-LPS02EX(LE)
The conventional LPS01 was only available with a 100 VA transformer due to the restrictions of the Takachi HEN case.
The Takachi HY88-23-23BB allows the use of a 160 VA transformer, making it possible to handle high currents.
The V3.0 board specialising in high current is used instead of the conventional LPS board V1.1.
In order to keep the size almost the same as the LPS01, the layout has been reviewed, the use of SMD components has been expanded, surface-mounted diodes are used, and one system output is available, basically one output (+2 outputs as an option).
A reverse current protection circuit for each output is realised with surface-mount diodes (general products and 10 A-compatible Kyocera Schottky barrier diodes).
Vishay MMB MELF resistors are used as part of the linear regulator resistors.
Two LM338 linear regulators, each capable of handling 5 A, are driven in parallel to achieve a maximum design of 7 A.
Like the LPS01, it is also compatible with the Analog Devices (formerly Linear Technology) LT1084CT.
By using a 160VA transformer, the 24V version, which was designed to handle up to 3A in the LPS01, can also handle up to 5A.
At 231 mm x 235 mm x 113 mm, larger than the LPS01, but this has enabled more stable heat dissipation and a larger capacity transformer to be installed.
Other features of the LPS01 include the ability to select the two most recent voltages from 5-24 V and switch internally (one output system), and a three-stage filter configuration with a total of 50,240 uF.
A 20 V 6.5 A unit is currently on order and under final confirmation.
The distribution price will be 98,000 yen (including shipping costs in Japan).
BRi-LPS02EX-D (LE)
It was designed and developed under the former name LPS-Dual.
This product also uses the Takachi HY88-23-23BB case.
The verification of the core LPS V3 board and the 5 V dedicated LPS-Digital board has been completed and the product is ready for order.
The BRi-LPS02EX-D is a 2-system output model with an additional LPS-Digital board dedicated to 5 V output in addition to the LPS02EXLE.
- 1 system output with the last 2 voltages selected from 5-24V (max. 7A)
- 5V USB Type-A or Type-C power output (max. 3A)
It allows a single power supply for the USB isolator and compatible devices, such as 12V/5V.
In addition to the familiar voltmeter on the front of the LPS series, a power switch is located on the front. The AC inlet with noise filter can be used as a master switch, allowing the two systems to be switched on and off as desired.
The additional 5 V LPS-Digital board uses a PCB toroidal transformer and is independent of the transformer from the main output of the LPS V3.
Even though it has a 5V/3A output, it is a dedicated LPS01 for 5V and below with an adjusted withstand voltage, and follows the LPS series 3-stage filter of 50,240uF.
The regulator is an Analog Devices (formerly Linear Technology) LT3083CT, with a 7V 35VA PCB toroidal transformer.
Type-A and Type-C connectors (female) power-only output connectors are standard.
Distribution price 130,000 yen (including shipping costs in Japan).
BRi-LPS02EX-T (LE)
Currently under design.
In the LPS02EX-D, one side was a 2-system power supply of 5V, but in the LPS02EX-T,
LPSV3 board and 2 sets of 100VA transformers are mounted, and it becomes a linear power supply capable of 2-system output.
The case adopts the Takachi HY88-28-23BB with a width of 280 mm, and even the LPS02 is a large machine, but it is a power supply with two sets of LPS01EX packed in.
BRi-LPS02EX-PN (LE)
Currently under design.
This is an LPS01-based positive/negative power supply, a linear power supply for ±5 to 19 V, employing the LPS-Differential board.
Generally, the positive and negative power supplies are centre-tapped and the positive and negative sides are taken out from a single bridge by half-wave rectification, but the structure of the LPS01 is used as it is for the positive and negative sides, and the two outputs of the toroidal transformer are full-wave rectified from the positive and negative SBD bridges respectively, with post regulators (LM317/ 337) and an Analog Devices (formerly Linear Technology) LT1693A (positive) and LT3015 (negative) with excellent excessive response.
One set of LPS01-based 3-stage filters is placed on the positive and one set on the negative side.
The power supply is based on the premise of modifying a basic switching power supply machine, but with one positive and one negative GND output via XLR connectors.
We will respond promptly to requests for distribution of the items under design.
