The PSM02 series incorporates an advanced filter derived from the LPS01, housed on the PSM V2 board, delivering superior noise suppression and smoothing capacitance compared to the PSM01.
The BRi-PSM02-MR reduces the number of KA capacitors by three from the PSM02-FR to a total of ten, enabling compatibility with switching power supplies such as 12V switching AC adapters and USB PD devices rated at 65W or higher plus trigger cables.
It incorporates two KA 25V 6,800uF electrolytic capacitors, eight Nichicon FPCAP RR7 16V 330uF capacitors, and two WIMA film MKP2 0.1uF capacitors.
Total electrolytic capacitor capacity: 16,240μF
By employing the Nichicon FPCAP RR7 capacitor, the PSM02 series retains its exceptional transient response and information content while achieving a volume level comparable to FN, a frequency balance similar to FF, and the highest level of sound imaging and information content within the PSM02 series.

Murata EMIFIL BNX016-01
Combining the conventional common/normal mode coil and capacitor into a single unit,
it reduces noise across a broad bandwidth from 100kHz to 1GHz by 40dB—a level unattainable with previous products.
Nichicon UKA 25V/6,800uF x 2 (13,600uF)
Nichicon's flagship model in its current range of audio-grade capacitors.
A premium product featuring components meticulously selected for enhanced sound quality, rated for 105°C operation.
It reproduces sound with natural fidelity from the low frequencies through to the high-resolution range, faithfully rendering everything from the initial attack to the decay.
The BRi-PSM02-Mx features two UKA capacitors (three fewer than the PSM02-Fx), totalling 13,600uF, to accommodate power sources such as 12V/2A switching AC adapters or USB PD devices rated 65W or higher plus trigger cables. Combined with WIMA MKP2 capacitors, this achieves further noise reduction and power supply smoothing.
WIMA MKP2 0.1uF ⅹ2
German WIMA film capacitors, also used in professional audio equipment
Alongside Nichicon UKA, they handle noise reduction from the audible range to the high-resolution domain.
Due to its high performance, Nichicon UKA may occasionally oscillate; combining it with WIMA film capacitors maintains high sound quality.
In the PSM02 series, building on experience from the LPS01, the more compatible but higher-cost MKP2 capacitors are employed. By mounting two capacitors in total – one on the UKA side and one on the polymer solid capacitor side – the PSM02 achieves enhanced high-frequency sound quality on the UKA side while suppressing oscillation. This delivers even clearer high frequencies and tighter bass response compared to the PSM01 series.
Nichicon FPCAP RR7 16V 330uF x 8 (2,640uF)
Nichicon FPCAP Series Ultra-Low ESR Models
The PSM02-xR Series employs eight units of the pioneering Nichicon FPCAP RR7 solid polymer capacitor, albeit at a premium cost. This configuration delivers exceptional transient response, balanced tonal richness and frequency response, noise suppression, enhanced sound imaging, and increased information content. The capacitor connection method differs from the PSM01-x2N series, contributing to the PSM02 series' enhanced transient response, information content, sound separation, and noise reduction.
The Nichicon FPCAP RR7 features an ESR value of 7mΩ, inheriting and further enhancing the performance of the previous PSM02 series.
It can be used universally for DACs, network equipment, audio interfaces, DDCs, and clocks.
